Case Studies
Servers installation
Context
An Italian web hosting company (under dedicated resources agreement) struggling with 5 X racks (28 x servers, 2 x switches each) + 1 X Cisco router deployment into a new colo space.
Resolution
Dedicated engineer has been able to handle the whole project by his own, especially:
- Reception of materials: As he’s considered as an employee, he was given as contact for deliveries, so he could manage every side of it, which is sometimes complicated with RHSs, due to security policies in datacenters.
- Inventory: indeed, even though it’s not explicitly requested by customer, each new delivery is automatically inventoried, unless an order is given not to do so.
- Installation: As he was warned about this installation, he’s been able to plan his actions, then to bulk install all units in 1.5 day, while another half day has been required to proceed patchings and labellings.
- While he was busy with installation of servers, he already shared his computer to customer in order to let him proceed configurations on switches and router.
➔ After 3 days, all services were up and running, thanks as well to PXE deployment system.
Conclusion

Backbone circuits migration
Context
An African Operator (with Dedicated resource agreement) planned a migration of 5 x Backbone circuits in order to regroom them into the same card / Virtual Container.
#1 problem faced was time for restoration.
Resolution
As a CWS-TELECOM engineer is dedicated for this customer, he’s been warned a week before operation, so he could plan it, same as if he was a normal employee, which allowed him to prepare all patchings in advance, during Office hours, then to apply it in a few seconds for each circuit during night hours.
Conclusion
